sabrina had a record deal to hollywood records (disney) from 2014 up until 2020! she was signed to Island records on 2021 and then release emails i can’t send on july 2022 so it absolutely makes sense to me why she started connecting with people so much more eversince leaving disney. eics is a great departure album from that, it’s honest and vulnerable i mean she is literally calling out her dad for cheating on the first song, and it tells a story thru the whole body of work while being versatile sound wise mixing a little bit of a disco pop, country pop, a folky song, a strings ballad. to me that was her showcasing she can do it all and it’s impressive to me that in the midst of her big break she had one of the biggest online hate trains i’ve ever seen in a long time and she got thru it with so much grace and work ethic so I can only applaud her for that and I thinks she deserves every bit of success she is getting ‘cause it’s long overdue and the world owes to her

I really think Lady Gaga is a very revolutionary artist. It sucks how people recieved artpop back then. It is a very amazing experimental risky album that has aged amazingly.

Hot take but Camila is underrated, her versatility is incredible and her songs from C,XOXO are actually good, her best single til the moment is Chanel N. 5, she is serving visuals, vocals, live performances, and a cohesive era, the fact that she could make a ballad with hyperpop elements without killing the emotion is what makes her different from another hyperpop artists, she is amazing and I will be supporting the first Tay daughter

My take on Sabrina, i feel like she's the Tate Mcrae of the season. Overly popular like a tiktok song but isn't going to age well in the long run. Her two most popular songs are super basic. Her older songs have more sense

I love both Olivia and Sabrina, but I’ll also aknowledge that they really find creative ways to anger people lol. Like, Taylor is so meticulous with what she actively suports or says, so I’m so surprised when I wake up and see videos of Sabrina wearing a blasphemous shirt or Sabrina saying something out of pocket. I know the stans love it, but it does isolate a lot of their fans and kind of makes it hard to defend them. I mean, my sister is a swiftie but my mother never lets her listen to Olivia (despite my love of her music) because she’s pro choice. I feel like being less open about that stuff like other artists were at the start of their careers would lessen the hate they incite sometimes.

I am not one to jump and defend Taylor or anything but I have to say that I do find myself very uninterested in Olivia’s music :/ I tried to give her a fair shot like I do anyone new in music who gets my attention but I find her music to be less mature if that makes sense? Taylor loves to be tongue in cheek and is usually pretty digestible for the younger listeners but Olivia doesn’t have that same appeal to older audiences ya know? I liked drivers license and that’s about it unfortunately. Also I try not to base my opinions of music and their art on the way someone is behaving personally (unless it’s something really bad I find I hate listening to their music after they do something atrocious it ruins it for me) but the way she handled the entire Sabrina carpenter ex boyfriend situation read as extremely insecure as someone who wasn’t too heavily invested it just seemed like very unprompted lashing out at the girl the ex gets with when I think most agree we need to focus on their person who made a promise to you and broke your heart not the other woman ya know? I really wanted to like her too (If anyone’s curious I fell for each artist from the following song: *taylor swift- teardrops on my guitar *sabrina- can’t blame a girl for tryin *ashnikko- daisy *melanie Martinez- dollhouse *kidd Travis- strawberry skies)

I think if the whole record was more sonically interesting and dramatic like the standard edition (not all the piano songs put one after another) then the manuscript would’ve worked as the final track having such a sad and slow production like a “now that I’ve said what I’ve said, the story is now yours” moment. I hope Olivia “evolves” her music and not stay in the teenage punk rock era because with her voice and talent, I really think she could make very emotional music with incredible vocals and powerful instrumentals and rock that sounds more poppy and fun but not too youthful in a way similar to how Taylor Swift handled the production of fearless and speak now. I also hope the visual of her albums will be more “attractive” and not like an angry young teenage girl. I don’t think teenage punk rock sounds very pleasant to listen to all the time and I would love for Olivia to switch things up a little and go in a different direction because she can and she would excel in it

the thing about gracie abrams is that a significant amount of gracie abrams fans are swifties, and usually gracie is their second favorite to taylor. including me, taylor is obviously my favorite artist and gracie is my second. there are a lot of olivia fans that hate taylor swift or don’t even care about her, so what you said about taylor hyping up gracie even though olivia has more potential (for lack of a better word) is so true

I do like your approach of trying to be more cohesive with the reshuffle because I do agree with you that Taylor Swift albums are sometimes very chaotic tracklist-wise and this one is no different. However, I do feel that having all the slow songs next to each other would create a sense of fatigue and make me feel a bit tired listening to slow Taylor swift ballad after slow Taylor swift ballad. Still, I love your points made and great video and analysis!

When I listened to emails I can’t send I got really excited because I wanted to buy into the hype but like you said nothing stuck with me. I also agree with the celebrities getting into politics and trying to influence voters to see their side. One of reasons I feel this way is because celebrities do not live in the same world we live in. There are so many ways that they could help with their money or voice but politics is such a circus and getting involved in it. Is a no win situation.
